Hemming Jeans

So, I've been wanting to try this method of "blind" hemming jeans for a couple months now. When I found a pair of Bitten jeans for $8.98, I couldn't resist. Of course, the "regular" length is for a freakishly tall super model. So here are the results. What do you think? I was skeptical, but now that it's done, I quite like them and how easy it was!! Sorry that the last photo is a wee bit blurry, but I loved how the cat was all like "what the hell are you doing taking pictures of your pants?"

Wow, that worked really well. Does it feel weird, too bulky at the bottom?

Not really. Once I'm sure I like the length, I might consider trimming it off. It's only an inch of material folded over. It'll be interesting to see how it washes. I wonder if it'll keep the crease, or I'll have to iron them a couple of times - until they're trained. Anyways, they're definitely not noticeably bulky to the outside world (work will the test tomorrow).

You know, I just thought of something: If you take some dark blue thread and just make a stitch around the seam, close to the new seam, that would hold the seam allowance down and you wouldn't have to keep ironing it. And it wouldn't show.

That's an excellent idea. I will try that next time!!
